Super Bowl Party

February 07 - We enjoyed a sweet evening with the Wise Family, our Georgian friends (well they have been here a lot longer than we have). Shellie & Robin
After a great feed on tacos, we headed down into our basement to emerge ourselves in the Super Bowl game. Did I mention it can be cold in our basement?
By the way, the Saints upset the Colts, 31 to 17.

Jenny turns 25

February 06 - We celebrated Jenny's birthday a few days early this year. We converged at Ken & Pam's and partied on! Jassen & Prestin waiting to get their beautiful deserts!Pressie time, and Jonah had to help!
Looking on with such keen attention! It's always a good time for one of these!

Vande invasion

January 31 - What a pleasant surprize to have the Vande's and Jenny come over for a visit in our new home!!! Hanging out at our huge table. What's that that Prestin is doing? Oh yeah, something different... texting.Stef, Shellie & Jenny hanging out on our couch!
Haley, Jonah & Hnuter looking down from the second floor!

Scott turns 30

January 21 - We celebrated Scott's turning 30. After enjoying a meal at his favorite Mexican resturant we converged at their place for pressies, cake and ping pong! One of his nick names is Uncle Taco. Is he 120 or 90 of just 30? With a big blow he did manage to put out the three candles!
Happy onlookers!
Jenny & Pam
Grandma is really enjoying her family!!!
Need I say more?!

Tornado warning

January 20 - Not having access to the outside world (no internet or TV), little did we know that a tornado system was heading our way. Pam text us saying that the status had gone from watch, to alert to warning. That's the highest most dangerous it can go. Literally funnel clouds were over us and we needed to get into our basement. We helped grandma down the stairs and then settled in for watching a DVD in our basement. Though outside lightning flashed continously, the tornado never touched ground, still the warning was real. Such excitement!!! Here are the boys and Purlie just chilling as all mayhem goes on outside!!!

Settling in

January 20 - First days are always crazily fun. Jasen's new room, though at this point was a bit messy, he is totally loving being able to get out his stuff! Prestin & Deron chill in Prestin's room.
Deron's room all ready to be set up. The bed is made and the bookcase now just needs to be filled.
Shellie loving having a laundry room that is connected to the house. We found a new dryer for half price at Home Depot and it works great!
Grandma is loving her new home!!!
Quiet time!

Moving day!

January 19 - Deron, Prestin Steve & Purlie spent the night in our new place (and it was cold) on the eve of our move. Here Purlie checks out the master bedroom in the morning just before all the moving activity began!
The SAM's guy arrived just as scheduled. So different than their Californian counterparts!!!The first container was all safe and undamaged (as all would be).Prestin after emptying that first container. The SAM guy was back in about two hours with the second one.Brian (new friend from the Vineyard here in Athens) came for a few hours to help. Here he is assisting the SAM guy to drop the second container. Prestin & Brian as we waited for the third container's arrival. And just prior to the last containers arrival, the rest of the gang arrived. Pam unwrapped & unwrapped & unwrapped things that have been wrapped for around three years! It was over three years ago that we begun packing up to leave Australia and most of our stuff has been in storage until now!!! Ken & Deron uncovering our huge (5x5) table made of very old wood (it's very heavy). Pam still unwrapping
Meanwhile Purlie peacefully slept on Prestin's bed!
Shellie is so happy to be in our own home, no longer living out of suitcases and confined to our bedrooms at the back of grandma's house.
Yep it is good to be here!!! The living room was the perfect staging point.
Deron still working at uncovering our magnificent table!
Our last container. Could you tell it was Prestin who had loaded it???
More to come into the staging area!
We are all in, and the packing materials were out for the rubbish collectors.
The beginning of a new season!!!
