Ken & Pam move in

September 30 - Steve arrived back from Georgia to find Ken & Pam had moved in with them. Actually it wasn't a surprise. Ken & Pam are in the process of moving to Georgia and their house just closed and they moved out earlier in the week! The ball is definitely moving!!!
Grandma is enjoying having the new additions in her home, as she pets Bella.Sophe not too fussed about the big change!
Ken likes our wi-fi network!Pam heading between the trailer and the house, getting ready to head off to the Angels game.
Shellie and Steve, well it's love!Purlie is totally unfussed about the things happening on the other side of the house. We closed up the hall door, thus separating the dogs and the kitty! No worries!

Georgia opens up

September 23-29 - Steve was on a prayerful adventure in Georgia. Two days in Flowery Branch with family, exploring the areas nearby. Two days in Atlanta with a friend from a long long time ago. And two days in Athens spying out the land as to what the Lord might be saying to us. It was an amazing trip!!!

Here is Scott (Steve's nephew) video taping as we looked at homes and areas in the corridor between Flowery Branch and Athens. Oh ya, notice how green everything is? Steve arrived right after the two century storm! Apparently, the drought is officially over!Fire Ants are a real problem. They are really small but have a fiery bite!
Scott & Steve stopped for lunch in Athens at The Varsity. Honestly, we were not impressed!!! It is not even close to In-N-Out!Scott & Jenny's home in Flowery Branch
Scott & Steve on the deck at their homeStef & Jimmy's new home (literally) in Flowery Branch. They had just moved in that week and Stef had done an amazing job unpacking EVERYTHING. By the way, it has a huge lawn to mow! Stef & Jenny preparing dinner
Enjoying the dinner
We had a little birthday party for Haley. Jonah and Hunter helped her open her gifts. Steve caught up with Mark, from our Seal Beach days. Mark is currently working on his Ph.D in philosophy at Emory (Atlanta), where he also teaches.Steve & Mark had a great re-connection, and are looking forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for us all in this next season. The last few days were spent in Athens, the home of the University of Georgia (UGA). Steve spent lots of time prayer walking the campus, exploring the area and meeting with several pastors. This is definitely where God is leading us! Oh by the way, Steve took this pic of himself in front of the UGA football stadium while talking with Shellie. WHY SO SERIOUS?
Steve was invited into the home and hearts of the pastors of Athens Vineyard (Kyle and Robin). We so look forward to getting to know them better in the days to come and seeing where it goes from there!!!

The clock has begun ticking and we are moving forward. We are hoping to be there by early next year.

Prestin got his driver's license!!!

September 15 - Two hours at the DMV and Prestin walked out with his temporary driver's license in hand (the card arrives in a week or so). Here is his examiner making sure he knows how to turn on the lights! Celebrating with a milk shake at Chik-Fil-A
In the drivers seat!!! Now he can actually do it on his own!

What a milestone for us - our youngest child got his driver's license. The next marker is his 18th birthday coming up in October!

Kitchen complete!

We have been spending lots of time fixing up grandma's home - to be sold in the very near future! Here are just a few shots from our recently painted kitchen cabinets. Note the walls in the kitchen were also painted. The cabinets were the original finish over 50 years old and the walls haven't been painted in several decades! After...
Before...After... Before...
The kitchen now feels so much brighter and bigger.

Angels game!

September 10 - Perhaps our last Angels game (at home) for long awhile! We scored some $3 tickets way out along the left field side. Actually it wasn't bad at all, and it was a great game!!! Early enough to eat before the game started. We were literally second row from the very top! Oh yay, the food we brought from home was soooo tasty!!!
To our most pleasant surprise Kenny G played the National Athem on his soprano sax. WOW!!!
Jasen holding Rally Monkey just in case!
Ken & Pam loving being together at the Angels game!
These binoculars were glued to Jasen's head. He absolutely loved the game!!!Steve & Shellie enjoyed being together, as a family away from their on-going responsibilities of caring for grandma! It's chill time!!!
Here's Tori Hunter up to bat right before he hit a homer to put the Angels up by 2 runs. Did I mention that Tori Hunter is Steve's favorite Angel?! The Angels won 3 to 0!Here's a shot just before we headed down the long flight of stairs and pathways. By the way, Pam is like the ultimate Angels fan!!!

Shellie's new look!

September 8 - It's a new season, and Shellie has a new look. And... she is beautiful!!!

Hot & Smokey

September 1 - August ended with a sizzle leaving several fires raging in various places around Southern Cal. This time these fires are not even close to us in Upland, but the effects are surely felt here. September arrived with health warnings to stay inside! Here is the smoke after several days at our place! There is kind of a weird eery feeling. Our vehicles received a light frosting of ash!
