Tough Mudder - INSANITY

March 13 - Don't believe the poster. It was even harder than advertised! Deron, Luna, Matt and Marcus ready to face their day of challenges. The Tough Mudder ended up being closer to 14 miles and 22 obstacles, which included such things as crawling through ice filled tunnels, climbing over a series of walls, scaling up muddy hills and through ponds and streams, sprawling under barbed wire, running through a mud field with hanging wires carrying 10,000 volts of electricity, carrying a log down a hill, working across a huge monkey bar, running through a field of fire and jumping off a 15 foot platform into muddy water to swim to the other side. They were clean and smiling at the "butt crack of dawn" (as they say in the South).
This guy sprayed people down with a fire hose as they climbed this muddy hill.
Climbing over muddy pond via a rope bridge.
Helping each other up a slippery steep muddy hill.
Sprawling through the mud to get passed the barbed wire.
A series of ice tunnels. Many people got cut up going through this obstacle.
Here's Matt scurrying his way through this chilly muddy mess.
They finished at around 4 1/2 hours without failing or falling off an obstacle! Well done guys!!!
Matt and Luna touting their prize... a Tough Mudder head band. Gotta love the rugby look!
Luna - well done girl!!!
Yay Marcus!!!
Deron, mud scarred for life!

The official "we finished" picture! Friendship forged in the furnance of a huge challenge!

By the way, it took like three washings to get the mud out of their clothes (let alone their hair and other parts of their body). And would you believe they can't wait to do it again next year!!!
